Saje was established by Kate Ross LeBlanc and Jean-Pierre LeBlanc. In August 2016, the founders partnered with the American private equity firm L Catterton to support expansion. Saje confirmed that partnership in its own 2020 announcement. The exact current ownership percentages are not publicly established.

Most products are produced by contract manufacturers rather than Saje-owned factories. Manufacturing partners for natural health products, cosmetics and consumer goods are based in Canada and the United States. Diffusers, accessories and merchandise come from North American and international suppliers. Essential oils are procured through domestic and international suppliers.
